Some weeks ago I started to use Whatsapp Messenger and immediatly I'm worried about how I could  save the messages on media that was less mobile and maybe even a little more durable than a martphone. Searching on the web I found this nice tool that decrypts the encrypted database of WhatsApp and exports all messages in a convenient html file readable with any browser.

The program runs a "simple" Python script, which must be intalled on the machine you want to use for backup. The program after having decrypted the database does nothing but query the database and build the message table for each user. The decryption is performed (at least in the Android version) thanks to a vulnerability in the implementation of AES.
The program works on iPhone version of Whatsapp too.
